Mechanics Assistant

Job Description

D&O Crane is hiring a mechanics assistant to support lead mechanics with daily repair and maintenance work. This role is hands on and steady, with clear paths to learn more and grow in the shop. You will handle basic repairs, help with diagnostics, maintain records, and keep the workspace clean and safe. If you want a long term position where you can build real skill, this is a solid fit.

Responsibilities

Carry out physical tasks assigned by lead mechanics.
Complete routine preventative maintenance.
Assist with repairing and replacing automotive parts.
Provide basic diagnostic support as needed.
Keep accurate vehicle and customer records.
Maintain shop cleanliness and follow all safety standards.

Requirements

General understanding of automotive parts and services.
Diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities are helpful.
Communicate clearly with lead mechanics and coworkers.
Previous shop or industry experience is preferred.
Pass all required drug testing.
Knowledge of tools, equipment, and basic maintenance.
Lift more than 50 pounds when the job requires it.
